FAQ

Questions, answered straight.

The things most people want to know before they book. If yours isn’t here, just call.

How do I know if I need counseling?

If you are relying on destructive habits (pornography, gambling, excessive drinking) to cope, if your marriage is suffering from chronic conflict or distance, or if you feel consistently overwhelmed, angry, or burned out, it’s time. You don’t have to wait for a crisis to seek help.

What insurance do you take?

I’m in-network with Aetna, Anthem / BCBS, Cigna / Evernorth, Medical Mutual, and The Health Plan. If you’re not in-network, don’t worry. You almost never have to pay full price. See insurance & rates.

How much does it cost?

Sessions are $125, including the first assessment. If you use insurance, your cost will depend on your plan. If you think you can’t afford it, just give me a call. Don’t let money get in the way of getting help.

Do you work with pornography and gambling?

Yes, these are primary specialties. We approach these issues directly, focusing on identifying triggers, establishing accountability systems, and building practical discipline rather than just relying on willpower. Learn more about pornography addiction and gambling issues.

Do you offer Christian counseling?

Yes. For clients who request it, faith is integrated into the therapeutic process. We combine biblical principles with evidence-based clinical practices. This is only at the client’s request; standard clinical counseling is provided for everyone else. More on Christian counseling.

Do you see couples?

My primary focus is working with men individually. Often the most effective way for a husband to improve his marriage is to do his own individual work first: learning communication, accountability, and emotional regulation.

How long does counseling take?

It varies by person. Some men reach their goals in a few months of focused work, while others dealing with deep-rooted addictions or trauma may need longer-term support. The goal is always to equip you with tools so you can eventually graduate from counseling.

What if I’m skeptical?

Most men are skeptical before they start. That’s why I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation. We can talk briefly, you can ask questions, and we can decide together if this approach makes sense for you. No pressure.
