Hi and welcome. My name is Rodney. Above all, my hope is to bear the fruit of the Holy Spirit and help those who hope to, come to know Christ. I’m married to married to Sara, with one son – Rodney Long III. We share our home in Akron, Ohio, with two dogs, Diego a Pit Bull (the crazy one) mix and Daisy, a Beagle mix (the lazy one).
The Professional Info
I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Malone University. After graduation, I attended Case Western Reserve University in the Advanced Standing program where I earned my Master’s Degree in Social Work. My credentials are Rodney Long Jr., MSSA, LISW-S. I’ve been a therapist for about 10 years and work to create an environment where clients feel safe enough to explore and change their circumstances.
The Real Deal
I grew up in Akron surrounded by more drugs and violence than any child should ever know. Despite missing 100 days of school in the eighth grade, failing out of college my first year, and coming from a family of poverty and addiction, I went on to attend a top 50 university (with the help of a lot of great people). This path is what led me to become a counselor.
